San Miguel de Salinas
San Miguel de Salinas is a municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. Located in the south of the province of Alicante, in the Vega Baja del Segura region, near the Murcia Region. It has a population of 6,798 inhabitants (INE 2023). It is a Spanish-speaking municipality, where Spanish is the legally recognized predominant language.
Situated between Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada, it is the highest town in the region. The 54 km² municipal area descends from the mountains in a layout of ramblas, ravines, and hills down to the plain known as El Llano, where the salt flats are located, which is the farming area. Regional roads connect it with Orihuela, via Bigastro, Torrevieja, and the towns of Vega del Segura.
From Alicante, access to this locality is via the A-7 and AP-7 to connect with the CV-940 and CV-941.
